BMW E90 Radio Coding with VXDIAG VCX SE BMW

Background information:

Got a BMW radio replaced which was removed from a car with a Hi-Fi system, it did not want to be coded (RAD2 module) to Stereo via a cheap inpa cable (because cheap cables do not digest large packages of LCI versions of radios).

You need a better cable for diagnostics and coding. When retrofitting Top Hi-Fi, you have to code the radio for different configurations, and more than once.

It was decided to buy something more serious than a cable. The choice was between the ICOM clone with an optical adapter or the VXDIAG VCX SE BMW. The second one won.

Why choose VXDIAG? After reading reviews about the very frequent failure of ICOMs clone, their dubious filling, and in principle the presence of at least some technical support, in connection with the above, he ordered the VCX SE in the minimum configuration – just a device, without SSD or HDD, since everything necessary was already installed on the laptop and is freely available on the Internet.

Here is such a little thing with functionality not inferior to ICOM.

Of course, in addition to coding, I had other plans for this adapter. Among them was restoring the functionality of the dead radio.

Once again connected to the machine, but now through a modern interface via Wi-Fi, we try to resurrect the radio.

Tried to flash RAD2 with the programming voltage ON, headed to no result as always.

The radio did not start, the firmware was loaded only with the first strip, and the second remained at zero.

Today I was thinking “what if it’s because of the broken MOST Ring, cause I don’t have any MOST module, but the RAD2 HU Have the MOST GW and it blinks when the ignition is on. So, I just made the MOST loop with original BMW wiring (will retrofit top hi-fi in the future, looking for parts at the moment) and has connected it to the RAD2.

Then:

WinKFP

Comfort Mode
Update ECU
Choose RA2CL2
Prog.
Ok

I did it with VCX SE BMW through WiFi connection. The flash procedure took about 15 minutes.

To program the RAD2 with MOST GW you must connect it to itself or rather have MOST loop.

VXDIAG VCX SE Cannot Connect Benz Viano W639?

Problem:

One of vxdiagshop.com’s customers bought the vxdiag VCX SE Benz scanner with his Mercedes Benz Viano W639. He had difficulty connecting to any of the modules.

Will vxdiag vcx se diagnose and code modules on W639?

VXDIAG VCX SE Cannot Connect Benz Viano W639 1

VXDIAG engineer solution:

Viano W639 you should manually enter VIN to scan modules. VXDIAG Xentry will not automatically read VIN on this old model.

Our engineer has tested it working fine.

Support 4-way can bus, 2-way K-line / L-line protocol.  It works fine on 2005 onwards models. For pre-2005 models with Kline, need luck.

Disable Lexus GS400 ABS Light by VXDIAG Techstream

Here we post the troubleshooting steps below for the ABS Light always on condition as they are in the manual.

You will need a vxdiag vcx nano Toyota cable with Techstream software.  You can also rent Techstream for like $10/day from Toyota, after you get the OBDII VCX to USB/WiFi device.

DI-459 (page): ABS Warning Light Circuit
1. LEXUS hand-held tester: Check if the ABS “ON” and “OFF” are shown on the tester. OK: Check and replace ABS & BA & TRAC & VSC ECU. [Techstream will check the ECU’s, and report out their condition]

2. Repair the bulb or combination meter assembly

3. Check ABS solenoid relay: Shows pin-outs and continuity checks

4. Check the ECU connectors are securely connected to ECU

5. Check operation of the ABS warning light (See Step 1) [redundant check]

6. Is DTC output? Yes -> repair circuit indicated by the output code

7. Does ABS warning light go off if short pin is removed?
No: Check for short circuit in harness and connector between warning light and DLC1 and ECU (see page IN-31).
Yes: then proceed to 8
Page IN-31: Several pages describing standard troubleshooting techniques for connectors and ECU’s

8. Check ABS solenoid relay (See step 3). Bad: replace relay
Good: Check for short circuit in harness and connector between warning light and DLC1 and ECU (see page IN-31).
