VXDIAG ODIS Cannot Read Audi A7 VIN Solution

Problem:

One of vxdiagshop.com’s customers has a problem connecting vxdiag vcx se 6154 ODIS v23 with an Audi A7 2014. ODIS will not auto read VIN of this car, tried manual input VIN still cannot communicate with vehicle. 6154 driver was installed properly.

Solution:

We can see from here (image below), there is no Audi database. You choose the wrong database.

VXDIAG ODIS Cannot Read Audi A7 VIN 4

If need to diagnose Audi, enter software from Audi car icon. It has Audi database. Vice versa.

VXDIAG JLR SDD 165 No Network Connection Icon?

Recently some people have had problems with JLR SDD V164 and V165.

Problem 1:

After the update to SDD v165 there is no longer connection to the server. Look at the attached .jpg. Green on 164, but red on 165.

when going from V164 to V165. The icon is always red even if the internet connection tells me it is correct!

VXDIAG JLR SDD 165 No Network Connection 2

VXDIAG JLR SDD 165 No Network Connection 3

Problem 2:

JLR SDD v165 installs fine and log’s in but cannot get online to download any asbuilt or calibration files using the current patches available.
This is what shows when trying to activate the network and what shows under network status.VXDIAG JLR SDD 165 No Network Connection 4
VXDIAG JLR SDD 165 No Network Connection 5
Here is the clue.
As per Topix , JLR as of 01-Sep-2024 changed the server security so no versions of SDD prior to 165.00 will download calibration files. They said Icon is not criteria for connectivity with server. You can check connectivity from setting.
But SDD v165 closed online acces for the all known patch.  They changed everything, patch does not work on v165.
They closed online access to all offline versions of SDD, they cut off all offline access. better have the calibration files somewhere.
They also do a trick with kvms. So after a flash they delete the file from vbf so you need to download it online each time. Better make the vbf files existing readonly.

VXDIAG VCX SE Benz and OEM VCI C6 Which is Better

VXDIAG VCX SE Benz (same as Benz C6) and OEM VCI C6 multiplexer which is a better Mercedes diagnostic tool?

VXDIAG VCX SE Benz vs OEM VCI C6

Here comes the user review:

“The slowest unit is C4. When using Xentry 9/23, gaining access to the car takes much longer (S205 2017).
Next up is the OEM VCI C6 clone, which is much faster than the C4 with the same system and car.
But the VXDIAG VCX SE is much faster, and running a short test is quite fast.

I would like to write that I noticed that VCI C6 OEM works as eCOM, it is unstable with new cars, especially with W223… Also it cannot be used for coding with MBTools, because it does not recognize it!!! This VCI C6 cannot be used as Passthru device.
Furthermore, this OEM VCI C6, which is an eCOM clone, cannot handle DOIP vehicles in Xentry from 2024/2026 onwards.

I also use VCX VXDIAG, this is the God in the Xentry multiplexer!!!”

VXDIAG VCX SE vs Godiag J2534 Which to Choose?

Godiag brand launched a super cheap J2534 cable (Godiag GD101 J2534) which works for many brands. Which is better to choose? VXDIAG VCX SE or the Godiag J2534?

VXDIAG VCX SE vs Godiag J2534

Both devices can be used as j2534 interface for multiple software, Techstream, HDS, ODIS, etc. Also compatible with 3rd party software pcmflash, bitbox etc. They should work on any diagnose software meeting SAE j2534 passthru regulations device.

The difference is that VXDIAG not only works as J2534 passthru but also as an emulator. VXDIAG will emulate software like OEM VCI.

Godiag J2534 just works as j2534 passthru.

Here are some test reports from godiag users:

-It works well with pcmflash.

-Not well with HDS. Live data disconnect every 10 seconds.

– is not fully compatible with Techstream even after using their drivers.

-Xentry passthru is a hit or-miss. cannot access to all modules.

-works with Renault and Nissan software but needs to replace registry

– godiag works with odis without problem

– get godiag j2534 and used it with GM sps2 with my paid subscription BUT it wouldn’t program everything, only some of the modules I tried worked.

-I’ve tried a GoDiag J2534 Nano with Nissan Consult 3 Plus. I could not get it to work. It refuses to connect to the car made in Japan.

If you need something just to see fault codes, then Godiag j2534 works fine. It is very cheap. But this is not a universal tool for performing any functions.

Godiag cannot and will not perform any setting changes, cannot communicate with a vast # of computers etc and you cannot do any programming with it.

While the VXDIAG VCX SE can be used as J2534 passthru device for OEM online programming.  Godiag does not support DoIP protocol while VXDIAG does.  VCX SE also allows to connect via WiFi and WLAN. Godiag connects via USB only.
