VXDIAG VCX SE and Scanmatik 3 Which to Buy

Question:

Which i can use for diagnostics xentry and inpa/ista at least and for programming vediamo, monaco and ncs expert? VXDIAG VCX SE or the new SM3 (Scanmatik 3)

Scanmatik SM3 Pass-Thru adapter is a successor of SM2Pro adapter with CAN-FD and DoIP protocols.

The new scanmatik 3 (looks pretty much the same as scanmatik 2 pro), but main difference being the introduction of CANFD, DOIP, wifi instead of BlueTooth, faster USB data transfer speed (from 12 mbps to 480 mbps, they changed the usb chip/drivers it seems), and the auxiliary cable now comes with the basic package.

1. Compatibility:

   • Both units work as J2534 passthru devices for software like Benz Xentry, BMW ISTA, and others.
   • Both support tools like PCMFlash and BitBox for ECU reading and writing.

2. Features:

   • VXDIAG VCX SE supports DoIP but not CAN FD. For CAN FD, the VXDIAG VCX FD model is recommended, which is cheaper than the SM3.
   • VXDIAG VCX SE supports both Vediamo and DTS Monaco engineering software, while the SM3 only supports DTS Monaco.

3. Pricing:

   • The VXDIAG VCX SE/VCX FD is much cheaper than the Scanmatik 3, with the SM3 costing about twice more.  On aliexpress sm2 pro costs like 50$ and sm3 450$.

4. Issues:

   • The SM3 has issues with K-line communication (e.g., problems connecting to PSA Diagbox and flashing ECUs like Med9 and EDC16), whereas the VXDIAG VCX SE works fine with Diagbox after license activation.
   • SM3 has slower connection times and issues in Vediamo coding and DAS operation.

5. Recommendation:

   • If you already own an SM2, upgrading to SM3 might not be worth it, as SM2 Pro still receives updates and new features.
   • For users needing to work across multiple brands, the VXDIAG VCX SE is a better choice due to its lower price and broader compatibility.

VXDIAG Benz WIS 2025 Patch Free Download

If your VXDIAG Benz WIS software does not show wiring diagram. The license has expired. Here is the solution.

We have provided WIS2024.exe patch before, but the 2024 patch expired on Dec. 10th, 2024.

Here download new WIS2025.exe patch. 

Put this patch on the desktop and run it.

VXDIAG Benz Xentry Wizard Interrupted Solution

If somebody has troubles while installing Xentry OpenShell software for VXDIAG VCX SE Benz/Benz C6 DoIP,

Error:

"InstallShield wizard completed
The wizard was interrupted before XENTRY Diagnostics OpelShell could be fully installed.
Your system has not been changed. To complete the installation at a different time, you must run the setup again."

 

Aborting of installation.

The solution is to change language settings in Windows.

To change language settings in Windows, go to Start > Settings > Time & Language > Language & region; from there, you can select your preferred language from the "Preferred languages" list, or add a new language by clicking "Add a language" and choosing the desired option from the list.

 

The same issue can happens with VXDIAG VCX SE 6154 ODIS Software for Volkswagen. Setup is aborting an uninstall everything.

Solution is Uninstall VW Triber in VX Manager, restart PC and install ODIS.

Everything works fine. With preinstalled VW Triber ODIS allows not the installation.

VXDIAG PSA Diagbox License Invalid Solution

Problem:

VXDIAG VCX SE PSA Diagbox 9.85 failed to connect to a Citroen DS2. The software searches for the VCI and then it says the license is invalid. However, the PSA license was activated. Both firmware and license are up-to-date.

Vxdiagshop.com engineer did a Teamviewer check and found the solution.

Many software on his computer conflict with the diagbox software.

Since the VXDIAG PSA scanner uses a separate driver for diagbox, you should install Diagbox software on a separate laptop.

Then it should be fine.

VXDIAG VCX SE Tested Working on Benz W211 2002

VXDIAG VCX SE Benz scanner latest review from one of the Russian users:

“I bought myself a VXDIAG VCX SE in order to save on diagnostics in the future. They says it is not good for old K-line models pre-2005. Although I doubted it would work completely with the old w211. Especially regarding the SBC unit.

Installed Xentry XDOS 24.09 and a short test found out that it sees all the blocks except ESP. Now I just have to sort out the errors)

After the test the unit’s number appears and you can enter it. But the ESP unit does not see.

It read the SBC unit and found a fault code.

Update:
Disabling this option in the dashboard helped, and the error on the speedtronic disappeared at the same time.

SBC -> Developer Data -> Activations -> Full list of all activations. And in the list that opens there will be a bunch of values, among them the necessary ones.
