Here comes the unbiased review on VXDIAG VCX SE DoIP Mercedes-Benz scanner [June 2024].
Credit to Mr. Holmes.
For me xentry, dts monaco 8.16, vediamo everything works great.
My Openport 2.0 served me faithfully for two years and almost never let me down. It still works great.
There’s just one thing, and it’s called SAMF204. The fact is that when
flashing firmware or updating any modules, the encodings of this same SAMF are
lost!
Of course, I have a backup, but correcting so many encodings in Vediamo
is just painful and time-consuming. I would like to connect using DTS Monaco,
where restoring encodings takes almost a second. But unfortunately Vediamo only
works in smr-d files with Openport, and I cannot find such a file for
samf204.
It was precisely because of this module that I decided to buy myself a VXDIAG VCX SE Benz unit. I took it this evening, reinstalled the entire system (we are moving from XPT to XDOS), installed Xentry 12.2023, DTS Monaco 8.16, Vediamo 5.01.01 and WIS 07.2021 Standalone.
It’s almost 3:00 am, I’m updating Add-ons, while the update is in progress I decided to share the joy.
Update:
Xentry OpenShell 12.2023 is installed and working.
DTS Monaco
8.16, works with both smr-d and cbf files.
Vediamo 4.02.02 in J2534 mode, cbf
only.
Problem:
One of our customers got the VXDIAG VCX FD unit without license and set up the vcx fd as a J2534 passthru for Techline Connect SPS2.
But he had no luck with SPS2 programming.
Error:
E4492: Cyber Security Access Failure
E4423: Unknown
reprogramming error 5 at step 0
Solution:
To use VCX FD (or VCX SE/VCX NANO) with GM Techline Connect SPS2, you must have GM license activated.
You cannot use VCX FD as a J2534 device for SPS2 without GM license.

Another Mercedes Benz coding review of vxdiag vcx se diagnostic scanner:
“I drive a Mercedes-Benz C-Class С350e PLUG IN HYBRID and a E-Class E320 4matic. From the first day I wanted to buy a scanner for diagnostics. I also wanted to be able to code module, so VXDIAG VCX SE Benz seemed the only adequate option. I ordered from vxdigashop.com.
Next, find an unnecessary laptop, set up diagnostic software, smr-d files, etc. As a result, we managed to get Xentry and DTS Monaco.
First of all, I decided to play with the codings. All coding was done in DTS Monaco:
* On the tidy: display of tire pressure in bars, reduction of the service
interval to 7.5 thousand cm.
* Set up the operation of the rear lights during
the day. In clear weather the lights still don’t shine. Only in the evening,
while the headlights had not yet turned on
* In Audio20: I coded the AMG logo
to turn on the Magintola (there is another option with AMG and Maybach; on
mbtools they want 100 EUR for this), turned it on displaying the car in AMG
style.
* Coded the turn signals: now instead of three flashes when touched,
there are four. This is probably the coolest option
and many other codings.
Let’s continue.

Activation of all sorts of things in codings.
Activated the analog menu on the command:
Turns on here:
Also there you can choose what to show on the third monometer: box temperature or battery voltage.
I turned off the beeper for not wearing a seat belt (we always buckle up even without a beeper). And turned off the reminder to fasten the rear passengers:
I set the tire pressure to be shown in bars, not in kilopascals:
Changed the oil change interval from 25,000 to 10,000:
You can choose what is shown on the dashboard:
I activated all sorts of settings menus on the dashboard:
I activated the oil level display menu
Well, and a bunch of other things can be done via vxdiag vcx se DTS Monaco.”

Problem:
Failed to start BMW ISTA-P from 2TB HDD of the VXDIAG VCX SE full device.
It said screen resolution is insufficient to run the application. Any solution?
Solution:
ISTA-P resolution is too low.
The resolution of the ISTA-P software does not match the resolution of your laptop.
Follow the reset resolution in ISTA-P.
Run ISTA-P software, press “i” icon
Select Reset Settings
Press Yes to reset the Config settings.
Run ISTA-P software again.
Choose Automatic Search
Set the resolution as the same as your laptop/computer.
How-to: program a Wireless Keypad on a Ford Maverick MY 2024 using vxdiag vcx nano Ford scanner and FDRS software.
If you add the wireless battery powered keypad you must use FDRS (or go to the dealer)!
Buy a two day subscription for $50 on motorcraftservice.com. You MUST use a different OBD reader than the ELM327 adapter for FORScan! The cheapest options are a used Ford VCM II for about $150 or the VXDIAG VCX NANO for FORD for $89 on vxdiagshop.com. You may need to download specific drivers for the J2534 OBD adapter you are using. There are not many options for OBD adapters and most of the options are very expensive...thousands of dollars.
FDRS will be useful in the future for anything key programming related and for the other things FORScan cannot accomplish. Many people were not able to get Ford Dealerships to honor that cheap of an install. Ford Accessories Install prices are very misleading.. Several dealerships wanted over $100 for just the install. Many shops are using the exact same software and they pay thousands for the OBD adapter and subscriptions.
The driver for FDRS is in the download for the VX manager. If you try to
download the VX manager beta and it would not let you because antivirus was
kicking in but it let you install the latest release non beta. It's working fine
if follow these instructions below.
VXdiag instructions
FDRS is somewhat challenging to get set up. The servers can be iffy at first, you must have internet access and you must log into an active Ford account as an independent user. Here is a link below to help with getting FDRS set up.
After getting FDRS setup and connected to your vehicle, you now can set up your wireless keypad. You will start by choosing Toolbox. Then BCM. Then choose Remote Keyless Entry Pad. Now just follow the instructions until they are complete.
