VXDIAG VCX SE vs Scanmatik Pro 2

Question:

I was confused between vxdiag vcx se and scanmatik pro 2 (SM2). Which one should I incline towards because i will have pcm flash as plus for reading and writing ecu's?

Answer:

We're going to explain the difference between Scanmatik and VCX SE (with pcmtuner 67 module). Used for Tuning by reading OBD both give the same performance, but VCX cannot be used for reading Boot or Bench (module 71). We recommend buying the original Scanmatik for Tuning, if you are going to read Boot or Bench, if you want to install different programs for the diagnosis, VCX is clearly superior because its drivers can emulate any of those original testers used for diagnosis (JLR SDD, GM GDS2, Honda HDS, Toyota Techstream, Subaru SSM3/SSM4, VAG ODIS etc).

We have several options with licenses. if you choose a programmer with the name BMW, it means that he has a license for BMW. If it has the name BMW+Mercedes it means that it has a license for these two brands. The price differs depending on which option you choose.

It has licenses valid for life time from the moment you buy it, you don't pay anything annually and you can update the Firmware and licenses for free.

As for openport, it is the same as vcx se, it read and write ECU via OBD only, and cannot do bench or boot mode. Openport clone price is cheaper than vcx se, but firmware need modification to work.

Failed to Activate VXDIAG BMW ISTA-P Solution

Problem:

I just got the vxdiag vcx se BMW diagnostic scanner and ISTA-P asks for an activation key. I followed your guide to paste the license key in ISTA-P text on desktop. But still not activated.

Any solution?

Solution:

Solved. Change the computer date to the day after the current date.

For example, the current computer date is Nov. 21st, 2022. Change the computer time to Nov. 22nd, 2022.

Can I Use VXDIAG VCX SE 6154 with PIWIS III?

Question: Possible to set up VAS 6154 clone (VXDiag VCX Nano) or the vcx se 6154 with Porsche PIWIS3 PT3G software?

Answer:

VAS6154 (VXDiag VCX Nano) OK, need downgrade

You can downgrade firmware for free with an older version vx manager (i.e from version 1.8x to 1.6). But after downgrade all licenses disappeared and you cannot work with device.

Some experts provide license installation for firmware 1.6x (downgrade vxdiag vcx nano also known as vas6154 clone to version 1.6) and software for license restore at any time (install license for work with PIWIS3 reworked for 6154 clone). You can use 6154 with any PIWIS3 installation, installing original drivers from VXmanager and can restore licenses at any time.

Before setting up. Check clone VAS 6154 firmware can be updated or not. Some clone VAS6154 firmware canot be updated.

How to downgrade the VXDIAG firmware to an old version:

1. Make a backup of your ManagerCenterC.ini file (where your prog is installed).
2. Change one line in your original ini file to
FirmwareURL="http://www.vxdiag.ugu.pl/xml.xml"
3. Open VX Manager and "update" your firmware.

After positive update, make your backuped ini file as valid and try regular update.
